Membership benefits

Certified membership is what separates a league night from an official one. Here is what your card actually buys you.

Certified average

Your average is recorded, verified, and recognized nationally — usable for entry into any USBC tournament in the country, not just ours.

Award recognition

National and local awards recognizing season achievements and standout performances in certified league play.

Certified lanes

Every certified house is inspected each season for lane condition, pin weight, and equipment, so scores bowled in our leagues stand up.

Prize fund protection

League prize funds in certified leagues are protected under USBC rules, with a clear process if something goes wrong.

Rules & dispute process

A published rulebook and a real appeals path. Local disputes are heard by your association board rather than settled at the desk.

Tournament eligibility

Eligibility for our association tournaments, the Pennsylvania State USBC events, and the USBC Open and Women's Championships.

Youth scholarships

Youth members earn scholarship dollars held in the USBC SMART program until they are ready for school.

Member discounts

USBC national member discount partners, plus local offers from area centers and pro shops.

A vote in your association

Members in good standing may attend association meetings, vote at the annual meeting, and run for the board.

Cost

What membership costs

Dues are collected by your league secretary at the start of the season. If you bowl in more than one certified league, you pay local and national dues once.

How to join

  1. Find a league. Contact any area bowling center and ask what has openings. Leagues run days, nights, and weekends, at every skill level.
  2. Sign up with the league secretary. They will collect your dues and submit your membership to USBC.
  3. Bowl. Your average starts building immediately, and your membership card arrives by mail or email.
